As people may be aware, there's an active community of DW users - not just devs, either - in the IRC channel #dw on the IRC server irc.dreamwidth.org - and it's very welcoming to newcomers.
However, I know that not everybody finds IRC particularly easy to be in, no matter how welcoming and comfortable people try to make it. It can be stressful to be in a space with lots of other people in real-time. At the same time, having conversations in real-time can be the best way to make decisions sometimes.
I'd like to bridge the gap a little. So I want to tell people that if you have any questions about dev in general, or coding, or anything like that, anybody can feel free to IM me. My IM details are public on my Dreamwidth profile. And this offer is open regardless of how stupid you think your question may be - it's not, trust me. In fact, if you *do* think it's stupid, let me know - it might well be that the answer can be made clearer for other people who may have the same question and might be afraid to ask, and thus don't get involved. We don't want to scare people away.
This offer isn't just open to newcomers, either. Even the more experienced can have trouble with IRC, so this offer is open to those people, too.
Hope to hear from you soon! <3
