I believe I'm not the only one that have this question: is there a simpler way to add pictures to posts? The "upload images" page is pretty awkward, including the way one has to cut/paste the image urls.

If you can accept the restriction on image location in email posting described in https://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=248 , you could use that feature.
