Exploring the database

A while ago I made the starts of an article about exploring the database. It's not quite finished yet, but I figured I should post about it in case the beginning ended up being helpful to anybody who wanted to start poking around database related things on their dev enviroment.

p.s. the ljdb tool is awesome.

ljdb ( on a dreamhack, or anyone using a 1-db setup ) will automatically pull up mysql to their DB { on multi-db, that pulls up the global, and then ljdb pulls up their cluster }

It's a good idea for a page. I had already started a page mapping out the important locations on this page: http://wiki.dwscoalition.org/notes/Database_Table_Overview , so maybe you can use it as a guide or update what I started writing.

I would love that.

I'd completely forgotten about Database Table Overview (except that it exists, obviously). If you see me making a few edits at the moment, that's just me tidying it up a little. By all means feel free to override or undo my work.

Ok, no I won't, because I don't have access any more. Never mind!

No, it's ok. I can understand that, and I haven't been active lately. It was just you reminding me of that page made me want to correct some of the more atrocious errors I made.

I've finished up getting the page to a state where it works now. She's all yours.
