Newly-Filed Bug Tour and Old Bugs Tour

Hey guys! You are the luckiest users ever because this week, you get NOT ONLY a newly-filed bug tour, courtesy of the fabulous sporky_rat (Official florist of Dreamwidth Support), you also get an old bugs tour from yours truly!

The newly-filed bug tour details all of the new bugs this week, keeping you up-to-date on the newest developments in Bugzilla-land. The old bugs tour will be an occasional feature which will outline and describe the unpatched bugs that are currently chilling out in Zilla, waiting for some lurve. Feel free to grab one or five if you're up for it! Most of them have specs so they're pretty much ready to code.

Description: This is a really neat new feature! It will allow users to display external sites on their profile pages, but instead of being from a selected list, the user will be able to write their own. Let us say that you are a member of the AO3. Instead of Dreamwidth needing to write and commit and push a change live that adds the AO3 as an option, you can pick it yourself! NIFTY EH???

Description: This feature will add support for site administrators and journal owners disabling certain parameters in comments on specific accounts -- for instance, there should be the administrative ability to force image placeholders in comments left by logged-in users on a specific journal, the ability to disable any HTML posted in a comment to a specific journal, etc. and so on. There are some other proposed parameters in the bug, so you should go take a look if you're interested.

Description: This feature is going to ROCK. Why? Because it will let you see how one person answered every question, instead of needing to hunt and peck for their answers among others. This will be especially useful for contact info polls!

Broken like (IIRC) "it's hard (maybe impossible) to fix compatibly due to a major change in early 2006 in how authentication uses cookies, which was needed to stop large-scale account cracking.". See http://community.livejournal.com/lj_dev/823914.html fo (links to) some of the story. (And yes, it's a major irritant for some client developers. Doesn't change the "hard to fix" part.)
